The Library of Educational Sciences and Psychology

The Library of Educational Sciences and Psychology of the University of Isfahan was established in two-story building in 1970. The first floor includes the depository of Persian books, Persian and English reference books as well as the study hall. Persian and English books can be borrowed on the first floor.
The second floor includes a study hall and the archive of theses, journals and also English books. Theses may only be studied in the library hall and the magazines may be borrowed temporarily. The Library of Educational Sciences and Psychology is the first library in the university to change from a closed access system to an open access one. This happened in 2004, under the supervision of Dr. Ibrahim Afshar. After the installation of a security system the students have been allowed to enter the depository and get access to their needed resources.

Resources available on the first floor of the library
1. Books: there are 38000 books in this library in total. 28000 of these books are in English and deal with the subjects in the four disciplines of Library and Information Sciences, Educational Sciences, Psychology and Counseling. There are also 8000 English books in this library.
2. CDs: the CD attachments of Persian and English books are numbered, like other books, based on the Dewey System. They can be temporarily borrowed by the users.

How to use the library depository section
All students of the University of Isfahan as well as other universities who are a member of the central library can use the facilities available in this library.
Resources available on the second floor of the library
1. Persian magazines
There are 76 magazines in Persian in the library of Educational Sciences and Psychology. These journals have been collected through donations, subscription or exchange. They can be studied inside the library or borrowed temporarily.
2. English magazines
There are 96 English magazines available in the library which have been published up to 2009. The magazines published after that date are available on the students’ respective databases.
3. Magazines archive
Persian and English periodicals are bound and alphabetically organized and are available on the second floor of the library. The titles of the available Persian magazines can be accessed on the journals system.
How to use the theses and dissertations
This section is open to postgraduate students of the University of Isfahan every day and to the postgraduate students from other universities on Sundays and Mondays.

Working hours of the library:

The library is open every day from 7:30 a.m. to 15:30 p.m.
